A free spirit, a gypsy, and a country girl walk into a bar… and she had the time of her life!

Before I created kismet & moxie, I had many different jobs and professional experiences under my belt and was very thankful for each of them. I learned a lot about business as well as myself. Although I always look back with great appreciation, I now see that nothing was really quite the perfect fit. I yearned to finally find my kismet place that allowed me to use the varied skills I’d built and apply knowledge I’d gained along the way.

Along with those professional changes came moves and personal changes as well. Among the lessons I’d learned was the incredibly great importance of boldly expressing & standing up for myself while continuing to hold onto my positive energy and share love & kindness with others. I also wanted to do it my way without feeling the need to explain my choices, apologize for my decisions, or tone down my moxie ways. I want all of that for you, too!

I was always creative and I found myself designing jewelry in accordance to what was going on in my life. It allowed me to express myself in so many ways — phrases stamped on a bracelet that remind me to play & be brave, colors and words used in pieces to show love for the people I care about, a necklace designed with a pendant of a stitched heart when my own had been broken, charms added and crystals mixed in ways to share a person’s story, bright beads to exude fun & joy… the possibilities were endless.

Aha & hells bells! There it was. A way for me not only to put to use my varied skills but also the creativity that I enjoy so much as well as express what my heart needs to let loose. (Let’s just say that I finally embraced my gypsy soul.) This was a reason for me to create, share an uplifting & spirited style, and explore with others on this journey of becoming & trusting ourselves. You encourage me to share and do the work that speaks to my soul and I hope to be able to do the same for you.

Wait, what?!!?! That can be the reason for my job? Hell yes, it can! Take the jump and make it a business? Yes!! I call that kismet & moxie.

Although very excited, I was quite hesitant to begin. Top of mind was this question: where do I and my brand fit in? There are so many beautiful and exciting styles to use for expression. The options are vast and sticking to one day in and day out, well, isn’t my style. I was concerned about not deciding on one kind of look, a single focus. (I’m a Gemini after all… can I really use that as an excuse? Haha!) How would I decide and what if I was wrong?

I’m so many kinds of women rolled into one and I want to share and speak with those of you like me. Unconventional. Bored with the “shoulds” in life. In need of adventure, exploring & discovering. My new story seems to begin with “a free spirit, a gypsy, and a country girl walk into a bar…”  and I love it that way! And I am grateful that you’re here. So very grateful that you decided to come on in, sit on the bar stool next to mine, and share stories with me!

Then it hit me. I finally realized that the issue of right or wrong was not my concern. There was no right or wrong — only permission. Permission to just go for it. Ahhhhh, sweet relief from my own inner doubt. After jumping in with LOTS of creating & searching & discovery, I found the materials that I most love working with that also allow me tons of playful, artistic designing. No longer was I overwhelmed with all the lovely choices and torn apart regarding the right jewelry style to use; I found the best style that allows my creativity to flow. Ahhhhhh, whew & woohoo! A style and materials that offer different looks all while still being cohesive.

With that excitement, I opened myself up to creativity & to you. I took the opportunity to invite you along for the ride. Thanks for jumping in; we’re gonna have fun!
